Animal Control

Cooper the dog.

For Animal Control issues (domesticated animals only) please contact the Town Office by calling (207) 367-2351 ext 12.

You can obtain a dog license by coming into the Town Office at 32 Main Street.

All dogs over 6 months of age must be licensed by January 31st of each year.

Fees for unaltered dogs are $11.00 and spayed/neutered dogs are $6.00. Per State law, a late fee of $25.00 must be charged on all late licenses. Proof of current rabies vaccination is required and you must provide a spay/neuter certificate in order to obtain the lesser fee. All dog licensing fees are set by the State of Maine and fees collected support state and local animal welfare programs.

Have a problem with a wild animal? Contact an Animal Damage Control Cooperator for help with chipmunks, skunks, raccoons, foxes, weasel, woodchucks, porcupines, squirrels, bats, English sparrows, European sparrows, pigeons (rock doves), and European starlings. Registered ADC cooperators are independent contractors available for hire at your risk.
